Spring is here, which means it’s time for Elementary Spring Multiplication Activities.  The birds are chirping! There’s never been a better time for upper elementary students to practice multiplication facts for fluency and mastery.

The flowers are beginning to bloom! It is Spring time!

That means it is time to integrate Spring FUN with math. Why not take that time to brush up on multiplication facts?  Especially with elementary multiplication spring activities.

First of all, knowing multiplication facts with instant recall is so important for numerous other math topics. Topics such as adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators, greatest common factors, least common multiples, multiplying integers and multiplying fractions. This is very crucial for upper level students and a foundational piece for upper elementary students.  I even use multiplication myself for long division as I think of the inverse operation to help me solve division problems. Upper elementary students NEED multiplication facts

Practicing and reviewing multiplication facts for accuracy and instant recall is very important for higher math.  Students are more confident with advanced math concepts when they don’t have to worry about figuring out their math facts. Students do their best work when they are able to  concentrate on the new math topic in front of them.

Full disclosure: I know my multiplication facts faster than my division facts.  Ssssh, don’t tell my students.

There are so many different ways to practice multiplication facts…games, songs, flashcards, traditional worksheets, color by number activities or even using art mediums like sidewalk chalk, paint or window markers.  One of my all-time favorites continues to be color by code printables though. 🖍️🖍️🖍️

Next, grab your brightest and most colorful crayons and let’s get started!  What an AWESOME way to have your Second Grade, Third Grade students, Fourth Grade or even your Fifth Grade Math students review their multiplication facts for fluency and accuracy than with Multiplication Color by Number Activities?

My students love coloring and I love the quiet and calmness it seems to bring in my classroom. I have even been known to play relaxing YOUTube Videos for kids or slow jazz while children work in small groups or independently on these worksheets.
